Terms of sale & licence

The terms that apply when you buy a digital product from AutonomyLabs, and the licence for using it. Last updated 27 September 2026.

We are not currently a member of any self-regulatory or accreditation body, and do not subscribe to a code of conduct or alternative dispute resolution code.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to digital products (downloadable spreadsheet templates and digital tools) that you buy from us through our Payhip shop or Gumroad. By completing a purchase you agree to them.

  • Store orders on Amazon.co.za or Bob Shop are governed by that marketplace's conditions of use together with our shipping & returns page.
  • ICT supply to organisations is governed by our written quotation and the buyer's purchase order or contract.

3. Products, prices and payment

  • Each product page describes the product's main features, what's included and which programs it works with. Please read it, and look at the screenshots, before you buy.
  • Prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are the full price. We're not registered for VAT, so no VAT is included or added. Digital products have no delivery charge. For buyers in some other countries, the checkout platform may add taxes it is legally required to collect; any such amount is shown before you pay.
  • Payment is made at checkout on Payhip. Card payments are processed by Paystack, and other payment methods may be offered at checkout. Gumroad purchases are processed by Gumroad. Before you pay, the checkout lets you review your order, correct mistakes and cancel.
  • Payment security: these providers handle payments over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We never receive or store your full card details. See our privacy notice for how personal information is handled.
  • A binding agreement is formed when your payment succeeds and the order is confirmed on screen.

4. Delivery and records

  • Delivery is by download. Your download link appears on screen straight after payment and is emailed to the address you give at checkout. Nothing is posted to you.
  • If you don't receive the link, check your spam folder, then email us and we'll resend it.
  • Your order confirmation email (from Payhip or Gumroad) is your record of the transaction. Keep it, and save or print these terms. You can view them at any time at www.autonomylab.co.za/terms/. We keep transaction records for at least 5 years.
  • Please keep your own backup of the files you download.

5. Licence: what you may and may not do

The products are protected by copyright. When you buy a product, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it as follows.

You may

  • Use and edit the files for your own personal use and for your own business(es)
  • Make copies for your own backup and on your own devices
  • Print, send and share the documents you create with the files (for example invoices, quotes, statements, price lists and treasurer summaries)
  • Let your own staff, bookkeeper or accountant use the files for your business

You may not

  • Resell, sublicense, share, upload, publish or give away the template files or modified copies of them
  • Put the files in a shared library, a template marketplace or a public drive
  • Use the files to create a competing template product
  • Remove copyright notices from the files

The free invoice template is licensed on the same terms, free of charge.

6. Cancellation, refunds and cooling-off

Our refund policy forms part of these terms. In summary: you can cancel within 7 days for a full refund if you haven't downloaded the files; if a file doesn't work as described you can have it fixed, replaced or refunded; and your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and section 44 of the ECT Act (cooling-off, where it applies) are not limited.

7. Accuracy and liability

  • Our templates are record-keeping and calculation tools. They are not accounting software and not tax, legal or financial advice. Check the documents you create before you send or rely on them, and ask a qualified adviser about your own tax or legal position.
  • We take care to make our products accurate and test them before release. If we find an error, we'll fix it and make an updated file available to buyers.
  • To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss (for example lost profit) arising from the use of a product, and our total liability for a product is limited to the price you paid for it. This does not limit any liability that can't be limited by law, including under the Consumer Protection Act.

8. General

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
  • We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown when you bought applies to your purchase.
